Dealing with tooth pain or sensitivity caused by infection? Root canal treatment offers a safe, effective way to relieve discomfort, save your natural tooth, and restore your oral health so you can smile comfortably again.
Book a Root Canal ConsultationRoot canal treatment is used when the soft tissue inside a tooth, known as the pulp, becomes infected or inflamed. This can happen because of deep decay, injury, cracks, or a large filling close to the nerve.
During treatment, your dentist carefully removes the infected or inflamed tissue, cleans and disinfects the root canals, then seals the space to help prevent reinfection. The tooth is usually restored with a filling or crown to protect its strength and function.
Root canal treatment can often help you keep your natural tooth and avoid extraction.

Your root canal treatment begins with a careful assessment. We will review your symptoms, examine the affected tooth and take X-rays to check the root canals and surrounding bone.
During treatment, the area is numbed with local anaesthetic to keep you comfortable. Your dentist creates a small opening in the tooth, removes the infected or damaged pulp, and cleans and disinfects the root canals.
The canals are then filled and sealed. In many cases, the tooth is restored with a filling or crown to help protect it from further damage. Treatment may be completed in one or two visits depending on the tooth and the level of infection.

Root canal treatments start from £450. Your dentist will assess the affected tooth, explain the treatment required and provide a clear quote before treatment begins.
0% finance options may be available to help spread the cost. These can be discussed during your consultation before you decide how to proceed.
If you have tooth pain, sensitivity or concerns about infection, our Camberwell team can assess the tooth and explain whether root canal treatment may help save it.
